A Flash of Orange by shadowfire-x A Flash of Orange by shadowfire-x
Labradorite must be my new favorite stone. It appears almost translucent or gray, at first. However, when struck at the right angle, labradorite refracts light in a flash of beautiful colors ranging from gold and orange to blue and green. This piece has a lovely golden orange shine, with just a touch of brilliant blue.

The 21-gauge square wire, and 21-gauge half-round German silver wire have a non-tarnish coating that ensures a lasting beautyt. It holds the stone firmly in place, and adds a flair of curves and swirls that do not distract from it.

This is my first time working with an actual cabochon instead of just a tumbled stone - and it made wrapping so much easier. This pendant, including the bale, is approximately 50mm tall by 30mm wide. This is a pendant only, the chain is not included - however, the bale is large enough that almost any size chain you should choose can be accommodated.

This item, along with many others, are available for sale at my Etsy shop! [link]

Thank you for the kind words! I didn't even know labradorite existed until a few months ago, and I think it's absolutely stunning.

Labradorite is one of my favorite stones. I have a few pieces in my stash that are begging me to wrap them, but I'm afraid I'll love them too much and not want to sell them. xD You did an awesome job wrapping this one. If you're from the U.S., I'd suggest checking out Riogrande.com for silver if you haven't yet. I find it's cheaper than other places. It still may not be in your budget, but it's something to think about for the future. Firemountaingems.com has cabs too. But beware, if you're buying mixes, they tend to have a lot of serpentine and other green stones and some of them have small stones that are too small to wrap.

I've heard a lot of people talk about RioGrande! I'm eventually going to have to bite the bullet and get some actual silver, as expensive as it did. And, thank you so much for the compliments - I always love hearing that people enjoy my work as much as I enjoy making it.
